Francis joined OPRI in 2013 after reading Medicine with an intercalated degree in Pathology at St Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge. He has strong interest in development and delivery of pragmatic trials, and a desire to apply his medical knowledge in this field. Over the years he has worked to support implementation of multiple real-world trials, quality improvement programmes and clinical audits.
He has experience with routinely collected healthcare data, quality improvement, health services and applied research. His broad experience provides him with clinical understanding of data and the ability to translate real-world data into research and actual healthcare improvement. He provides research implementation and clinical guidance to the organisation as a member of OPRI’s Clinical Faculty.
Francis is also the Data Custodian and Information Governance Lead for OPRI and the Optimum Patient Care (OPC) group. He oversees governance, data collection, linkage and optimisation the group’s real-world databases for research and quality improvement. He hopes to continue to contribute to initiatives for improving real-life research and outcomes for patients.
